WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 13, 2023) – On Nov. 30, 2023, Clark Construction and DAVIS Construction partnered to host the 10th annual CLARK/DAVIS Breakfast, raising over $70,000 for Samaritan Inns. The event, held at 80 M Street SE in Washington, D.C., drew 100 attendees and continues to receive donations. Since 2014, the CLARK/DAVIS Breakfast has raised more than $500,000 in funds to support the Samaritan Inns mission of helping homeless and at-risk men and women in D.C.

“CLARK and DAVIS are two of the leading construction companies in the region, and we’re so grateful they have chosen to use their success to give back to the D.C. community for more than a decade,” said Lauren C. Vaughan, President & CEO, Samaritan Inns. “Our city has one of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the country, yet there are only a handful of facilities within the District that cater to those with limited financial means. It’s inspiring that CLARK and DAVIS continually let competition take a backseat to help D.C. residents who are struggling with addiction to drugs and alcohol. Construction is an example of an industry with a prevalence of substance use.”

Located in D.C.’s Capitol Riverfront district, 80 M St SE is the home of the first mass timber commercial office project in the District—a three-floor vertical expansion, built by DAVIS. DAVIS used over 1,300 tons of mass timber to build three floors over the existing glass building, bringing a unique design and sustainable construction to the neighborhood.
