Through an innovative grant with Kaiser Permanente and local community partnerships, Samaritan Inns is now offering various health and nutrition education opportunities for our staff and residents. Through this particular grant, we have also brought on a registered dietician who is helping direct our staff and clients on a path of better nutrition. Our staff recognizes that both the physical and psychological needs of our clients must be met in order to ensure a successful recovery course and we are always looking for ways to further enrich the daily lives of our staff and clients.
Our family at Samaritan Inns has much to be thankful for this time of year! As many of you know, Samaritan Inns hosted a very special anniversary celebration recently and I want to express my sincerest gratitude to everyone who helped make our 25th Anniversary Hope Realized celebration a success. Our event would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship and donations of many dedicated friends and corporate partners. It was a blessing to gather together so many people that have supported Samaritan Inns' mission over the years and I have to say my heart is quite full.
As we welcome the warm weather and the festive summer season, we here at Samaritan Inns are proud to celebrate 25 years of growth and hope in the D.C. community. Since our inception in 1985, we have served as a restorative aid to those thousands of men and women who suffer from the effects of substance abuse and homelessness in the Washington area. We are blessed with the daily achievements of our staff and clients and want to take this opportunity to recognize the culmination of all this hard work and solidarity that have brought us here 25 years later.
Hoping everyone enjoyed the holiday season and survived our region’s historic snowstorms! As we patiently await the warmer spring weather, we at Samaritan Inns feels especially blessed as we prepare to celebrate our 25th year of empowering thousands of men and women across our region with hope for a future free from homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction. For a quarter of a century, Samaritan Inns has equipped thousands of men and women with the education, affordable housing, and structured support they need to reclaim and rebuild their lives.
Samaritan Inns is honored to be named as NBC News White House Correspondent Chuck Todd’s charity in a bet he made with ABC News White House Correspondent Jake Tapper.
As summer draws to a close, our Samaritan Inns family is preparing for an exciting and busy season. We invite you to join us in celebration of our twenty-fifth year in service to the region’s homeless population, as we look forward together to many more years of empowering individuals to reclaim their lives.
Not many of us can escape the current impact of this historic economic downturn our country is grappling with. At the same time, many of us who are residents of “Main Street” understand the direct results of our nation’s climatic economic state. As society’s challenges continue to burden our human services, for those of us who work diligently to provide stable and effective programs to the very people in dire need of them now more than ever, are even more conflicted with just how to do it with less resources and without allowing any soul to slip through the cracks.
