Earlier this morning, Sidwell Friends School completed a mini-walk as part of Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Walkathon program. Every year, Sidwell walks for three beneficiary organizations, one of which is Samaritan Inns. All of the money raised goes directly to Samaritan Inns to support our mission of ending homelessness and addictions in the District of Columbia.

Two weeks ago, Sidwell hosted an assembly at which Samaritan Inns and representatives from other beneficiary organizations shared with students about homelessness in our region. Sidwell students really got involved! In order to encourage their classmates to participate in the walk, a group of students wrote and performed in a skit at the assembly that conveyed the importance of the walk and urged everyone to get participate.

Samaritan Inns is blessed by its long-time partnership with Sidwell Friends School and encouraged by the youth there who take such an active role in working to end homelessness in our region. We’re looking forward to next year!
